I have for girls and one boy. Robby is 16, Becky 14, Mellisa 12, Kylie 4, London 2.
This is about my girls, and primarily my teens. (well, one is a tween)…
It’s funny how I am getting choked up to write this one. My girls. Well, I am a girl and I remember it all. I remember my relationship with my mom as a teen. My fashion ups and downs, school, friends, homework, boys, hair (that gets its own category), the mall and the music.
The music.
As I walk into my bathroom, I see my brushes everywhere, my blow dryer on the floor, and not long ago it was toys and dolls. I smile as I pick them up, my heart is soaring. My babies…are young women.
There is such a joy I get to watch them learn how to do adult like things like making money, buying and shopping for things, negotiating, being extremely creative. I love teaching them the ways of life as an adult. They way they generate on their own and the way they are always keeping me laughing. I think my teen girls are magical. They are the true princesses of the castle.
Letting them do hairstyles on me, and pick clothes out for me. They’re music and what they like to wear. Talking about our lives, our past and our future. It is all so general and no way I can capture it all here….but my teen girls are magnificant to watch grow. I am honored to be their mom.
And don’t get me started on my son, well i already opened a whole page on him.
